Familiar faces; celebrities, actors, actresses of Native-American blood

Nov. 1 starts off Native American History Month in America and there are quite a few celebrities who are of Native American descent. Here’s a list of just a few of your favorite writers, singers, actors and actresses who have Native American blood running through their veins.

Chuck Norris. An American actor and martial arts expert, as well as an internet sensation that everyone sees as the king of the tough-guy aesthetic. His father is part Cherokee.

Rosario Dawson. You may have heard of her from the Marvel Universe shows, “Luke Cage,” “Daredevil,” “Defenders” and “Iron Fist”. She’s also been in the first Percy Jackson and the Olympians movie as Hades wife, Persephone, and the movie “Rent” as Mimi. She is an American actress, producer, singe, comic book writer and political activist. She has Afro-Cuban, Puerto Rican, Irish and Native American blood.

Mandy Moore. His mother is of strong Cherokee descent. Moore is an American singer/songwriter and actress. She first made her claim to fame in the 90s when she went on tour with N’Sync promoting her first single “Candy”.

Kid Cudi is up next. Cudi is an American actor, singer/songwriter. His father was Mexican and Native American, and his mother was African-American.

Megan Fox. She’s an American actor and model as of late, starring in the first two “Transformers” movies, and the new “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movies. She’s part Cherokee.

Russell Means. Russell is most well-known for his role as Powhatan in one of Disney’s most famous movies, “Pocahontas.” He has also starred in “Pathfinder” and “Walker Texas Ranger.”

Alex Kruz. His father is of direct Native American descent. Alex has starred in several T.V. shows and documentaries, most notably “Golden Boy,” “Red Cloud” and “The Night Of.” He also happened to be performing alongside Megan Fox in “The Dictator.”

As time goes on and our generation continues to move forward, Hollywood and the music industry is predicted to become more diverse, so hopefully we will be seeing more familiar faces of Native American descent, and several other ethnicities as well.

 

This is just a small list of seven famous stars around Hollywood, but there are plenty more.
