Insight on setup of the Homecoming Dance

The Homecoming Dance is taking place at 7:00 pm. Saturday, Sept. 29, in the Manhattan High West Campus North gym and commons area.

The theme for the dance is called True Colors.

“Monday is going to be like a certain color,” said Tribe Co-President Erin Stenberg, “like everyone wear pink. Then Tuesday everyone wear… I forget I think it’s like blue, and it’s just supposed represent true colors as and like be yourself, bring your true colors, to MHS.”

Good news for those of you who don’t or can’t dance, there will be many things to do at the dance besides dancing.

“There’s a D.J. in the north gym,” Stenberg said, “and there’s a snack table and a photo booth.”

Tribe members will set up the dance and will be arriving at the school at 8:00 am that Saturday morning, Stenberg  described the decoration style as “very colorful.” The budget for the dance this year is around 700$, which will pay for the aforementioned D.J., photo booth and snacks.

“Last year we had about 600 students go so, each year the number of people that go gets bigger so I think we’re expecting anywhere between 500 and 700 people this year,” Stenberg said, that’s approximately 35 percent of the school attending.

The dance caps off a Powderpuff football game, pep rally and school spirit week.

“…but I think it’ll be fun,” Stenberg said, “I think it’ll be good.”
