Nina Kumle, an MHS freshman, began her career in writing doing short mystery stories. Nina, a typically shy person, got started in journalism on accident. Originally wanting to voice her thoughts through acting, she soon found she preferred words instead, and wandered into 21st Century Journalism, an intro to regular journalism. Nina found her strongest voice writing opinion pieces for The Mentor, and has continued sharing her thoughts, no matter the controversy, more than she ever has. In her free time, Nina enjoys biking, running, nature, and most of all… baking. She is passionate about voicing her thoughts and hopes to continue journalism throughout high school.
