The Manhattan High tennis team took first Monday at the Topeka High Invitational.

With only a week until the team competes at Regionals, they are looking in top shape.

In singles, junior Advith Natarajan took third going 4-1 in number one singles, and senior Leo Rosowsky also went 4-1 and took third in the number two singles bracket.

During the season Rosowsky has also played doubles and has changed his game to become successful this season.

“Reframing my mind set,” Rosowsky said. “Last year I went into matches not expecting to lose but I focused on my opponent’s strengths and weaknesses and not what I need to work on, and I’ve changed that this season.”

In doubles senior Michael Hwang and junior Jack Spiegel took third for the number one doubles bracket while sophomores Mason Gish and Zac Morgan went 5-0, taking first in the number two doubles bracket.

Hwang and Spiegel have both played with other doubles partners this season but have found their stride and success playing together.

“[My other partners] have different playing styles but me and Jack have very similar styles with consistent hitting,” Hwang said.

The team will play at Centennial League in Junction City on Monday.
