Popular shows that have made comebacks

Reboots of television shows are no stranger to TV watchers. However, most of the shows that have made a comeback in our lifetime have been too old for us to really be into. In the last few years though, that has changed with the comebacks of “Full House,” “Boy Meets World” and “Gilmore Girls.” Although they all have slightly varied titles, the casts are still the same, just grown up.

“Fuller House” (2016)

This show is essentially the same as its 1987 inspiration, aside from the absence of the Olsen twins to play Michelle. The difference? D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure) is now a Fuller and a recent widow. She moves back into the old house to raise her three sons, and Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and Kimmy (Andrea Barber) also move in with her to assist. Does this sound familiar yet? D.J. is basically her father now. With two seasons down, “Fuller House” has proven that sometimes tradition can be successful.

“Girl Meets World” (2014)

Over a decade after the initial series “Boy Meets World” (1983) was released, Disney rebooted this spinoff that follows the trials and tribulations that Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga’s (Danielle Fishel) daughter Riley faces throughout her early teen years. Although the show was a success among children and adults alike, it was recently cancelled.

“Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life” (2016)

The announcement of this series sent millennials into a craze. The show that we had been binge-watching on Netflix for years was finally getting a reboot. Thanks to Netflix, we had four more episodes to vicariously live through. Our favorite mother-daughter duo, Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Lorelai (Lauren Graham), had grown up and were now facing the same difficulties that we’ll probably go through sometime in the next decade.
