Concert talk with a concert junkie

“I have been to 23 concerts in my lifetime. Most of them were at Bonnaroo but my favorite is hard.

“The Ben Folds concert I went to this weekend was spectacular but I think for me freshman year when I saw Walk the Moon was my favorite because I got to meet them. That was crazy.”

“There’s something very special about being in the same room as the artist and experiencing everything that you listen to all the time in a live setting. Walk the Moon, they don’t play with backing tracks so you could hear every single thing, it was awesome.”

“My best concert experience, at Panic! at the Disco I was about 14 and there was a girl who was really mean to me and that wasn’t fun. At Bonnaroo and I was back-stage waiting to see the Knocks and the girl who sings in the band Powers came up to me backstage and said ‘I love your shoes.’ I was wearing Superman shoes and then she went on stage and I was star struck.”

“My dream concert, I really want to see Walk the Moon again. I might get to see the Red Hot Chilli Peppers this year at Bonnaroo if they aren’t playing super late; that would be really fun.”

“First time concert goers need to know to always stay hydrated. Everyone tells you that but it’s super serious. I threw up from dehydration at a Twenty One Pilots concert and that wasn’t the funnest thing. Be careful if you’re going by yourself, be aware of your surroundings. Don’t let the crowd push you around, I know a lot of younger crowds are really pushy and it’s not fun for anyone. Don’t be that person. Wear shoes you aren’t going to hate yourself for wearing. Just make sure that your safety is a priority. I know it’s going to be fun to get to the barricade, but if you get to the barricade and you’re scraped up and you’re hurt it’s not going to be fun. Be respectful. Usually people will be pretty chill but sometimes people get really mean about it, like when I went to Panic at the Disco, so you just have to respect other people and be nice.”
