Senior Avery Larson has been selected as The Mentor’s Athlete of the Month. Larson has started every game for the Indians and has shown her leadership throughout the season.

“Being a leader to me is a lot of things and it’s not all on the court but during practice,” Larson said.”I think leading by example is a big part of being a leader and all of the seniors and I do a good job of that.” 

In Manhattan’s last game Larson made 17 points and a 3-pointer to lead them to 2-OT in their big upset against undefeated Emporia. 

“It was a huge win and a big confidence boost that came at the right time to push us for the rest of the season,” Larson said.
