Varsity Volleyball Advances to State

This past weekend the Varsity volleyball team won Sub-State at home Saturday and is moving on to State.

The team went 4-0 during their matchup this weekend. This weekend they are now  23-14 on the season.

The Indians first match of the day, Dodge City, started slow but eventually they picked up their pace, winning 25-15 for the first set and set two 25-17.

“I played pretty good. I just tried to stay consistent and overall I did a good job,” Cox said. “I think we as a team played pretty good. We played as a team rather than playing as individuals so that was really good.”

The second game was a closer matchup against Wichita Northwest. The scoring for set one was 25-21 and the second set was 25-22. During the second game they played more confidently and played a lot better all around.

“We started a bit slow but we got back and hit our grove,” Cox said.  “We ended up winning so that’s good.”

The team moves on to state on Friday, Oct. 27, with games at 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. at Tony’s Pizza Events Center in Salina.
