Athlete of the Week: Jalin Harper

Jonah Evarts, Sports Editor

When athletes come to mind at Manhattan High School, Jalin Harper is a name that is very well known. A starting safety on the football team, and a reigning state champion in wrestling, he is a force to be watched any time he steps out in an athletic activity.

In the football team’s game against Seamen on Friday, the senior had three interceptions to keep the faltering offense on the field, a major factor in their 27-9 win. On top of that, he committed to wrestle at Oklahoma State earlier this week.

Harper has been a leader all four years in high school, but has come into his own this year, especially as a leader by example. He still has the rest of a football season to go, and a wrestling season to prove himself again.
