Aug. 25 was meant to mark the beginning of the tennis season. However, due to heavy rain and expected thunderstorms and showers, the meet was postponed. Originally, the plan was for the Junior Varsity tennis team to travel to Emporia and compete in the first matches of the season. Within hours of the day, the meet was postponed and has been unannounced for a rescheduled date. The effect is both good and bad, according to senior Lauren Robben.

“It’s bad because we don’t get to play and get started,” Robben said. “But it’s good because we have more time to practice and prepare.”

Tennis will now begin their season on Sept. 1 at the Junction City Quad.
