Athlete of the Week: Raeshon Riddick

Sophomore Raeshon Riddick is looking like a bona fide star in only his second year on the Manhattan high school boys basketball team. After scoring 19 in his first start as a Varsity player last Thursday, Riddick turned heads right away. He was doing this last year too, as he threw down some thunderous dunks as only a freshman for J.V. Riddick went on to average 12 points a game over the weekend, including a 17-point outing to help carry the team to a third place finish in their first tournament. Riddick will likely be a starter for the whole season, and he’s only going to improve as he settles into the unfamiliar territory that is Varsity basketball. His athleticism and scoring ability will surely help with the process.

“I just knew I had a big role coming into the season, so I tried to help my team come out on top as best as I can. ” Riddick said
